Halloween on our public access channel we want to show this film. Over 98k have downloaded it. But when I went to the page there all kinds of horror stories about film quality and real problems in downloading MEPEG2. What is the quality of this film and what is the best method for downloading.

I don't know about the quality of this particular film, but MPEG2 is always better (when properly encoded) than anything else short of .VOB (DVD) files. The best method to download (in my opinion) would be DAP (Doanload Accelerator Plus) which has a free version that works just fine. Just be certain to have it set to 1 download at a time, as it does make multiple connections to the server and more than 1 (simultaneous) download would stress the server. If it really means a lot to you, and the Archive permits it...I do have a DVD copy of Night of The Living Dead that I would happily upload for you and your viewing audience. I'm not sure if they would permit an upload of DVD files since I am a new member and have not had the chance to read all the rules. If the current copy is a poor one, I could also encode my DVD to whatever format you would prefer. Anything I can do to help out the Halloween scene, it is my favorite time of year. :)

Thanks Joe cinema for your info. I'll pass it on to our Tech People. If for some reason they can't download I might take you up on the DVD.
